Description
What is Curanail / Loceryl?
Curanail, also known as Loceryl, is a specialised treatment for fungal nail infections. Developed by skincare experts, it contains the active ingredient amorolfine hydrochloride, which effectively prevents the growth of multiple types of fungi, helping combat the infection. Curanail is available in a 3ml size, while the 5ml version is called Loceryl—both offering the same 5% Amorolfine formula.
How should I use it?
Begin by filing down as much of the infected nail as possible, then clean it with a swab to remove any grease. Dip the applicator into the lacquer without wiping it on the bottle’s edge. Apply a thin layer of the lacquer evenly over the entire infected nail once a week, allowing it to dry for approximately 3 minutes. Afterwards, clean the applicator with the same swab.
Avoid using the same nail file for infected and healthy nails, and refrain from using artificial nails or nail polish during treatment. Before each application, remove any old lacquer, file the nail if necessary, and then reapply.
How long does it take to work?
Apply the treatment weekly without breaks until the infection clears and healthy nail growth is complete. Generally, treatment lasts around 6 months for fingernails and 9–12 months for toenails. Check your progress every three months; if the infection persists or worsens, consult your doctor.
What is a fungal nail infection?
Fungal nail infections develop when fungi overgrow in warm, damp conditions—like hot, sweaty shoes, public locker rooms, or showers. Those with a weakened immune system are also more vulnerable. Infected nails can become discoloured, thickened, painful under pressure, and brittle.
