What is Nasonex?
Nasonex is a nasal spray containing mometasone furoate, a corticosteroid used to treat hay fever symptoms. It works by reducing inflammation in the nasal passages, which helps to relieve symptoms such as sneezing, itching, and a runny nose, making it easier to breathe.
How to use Nasonex?
Nasonex can be used daily, with the typical dose being two sprays in each nostril once a day.
How to use the nasal spray
- Before using Nasonex for the first time, prime the bottle by spraying the pump 10 times until a fine mist appears.
- Gently shake the bottle and remove the dust cap.
- Blow your nose gently.
- Close one nostril and insert the nozzle into the other nostril. Tilt your head forward and keep the bottle upright.
- Breathe in slowly through your nose while pressing the spray pump once.
- Breathe out through your mouth.
- Repeat the process for a second dose in the same nostril and two doses in the other nostril.
- After use, wipe the nozzle and replace the dust cap.
Cleaning your nasal spray
To maintain your nasal spray, clean it regularly by:
- Removing the dust cap and gently detaching the nozzle.
- Washing both parts with warm water, rinsing them under a running tap, and letting them dry in a warm place.
- Once dry, reassemble the spray and prime it with two sprays before your next use.
- Never insert sharp objects into the applicator, as this can damage the spray and result in an incorrect dose.
