What is Pantoprazole and What is it Used For?
Pantoprazole is a medicine for stomach and intestinal problems related to excess acid. It’s used to treat acid reflux, commonly known as heartburn. Acid reflux occurs when stomach acid comes back up into the throat, causing a burning feeling in the chest.
How Does It Work?
Pantoprazole, along with other similar drugs called proton pump inhibitors, lowers the amount of acid your stomach makes. This helps reduce the symptoms caused by stomach acid flowing into your throat.
How Do I Use Pantoprazole?
For adults, take one tablet every day before a meal for about 4 weeks. If your condition isn’t fully better, you can continue for up to 8 weeks. Always swallow the tablet whole; don’t break or chew it. The best time to take it is in the morning.
