Best Hair Loss Treatment UK

Effective and sustainable hair regrowth treatments

Hair loss affects many people in the UK, with over 85% of men and more than 50% of women experiencing it at some stage in their lives. It can be a distressing issue to cope with.

Hair loss can be hereditary, meaning it runs in families, and if it’s genetic, there’s little you can do to prevent it. However, there are treatments available that can help stop hair loss and, in some cases, even promote regrowth.

Our treatments, which can be applied to the scalp or taken orally, are backed by clinical studies showing their effectiveness in halting hair loss and stimulating hair regrowth.

What are the different ways people can lose their hair?
There are several types of hair loss for both men and women:

Male pattern baldness (androgenetic alopecia): This is the most common form of hair loss in men, affecting around half of them by the time they turn 50. It is usually hereditary and causes hair thinning or loss at the hairline, crown, and temples. Treatments like finasteride and Propecia are available for this condition.

Female pattern baldness (androgenetic alopecia): Women can experience a similar type of hair loss, often at the top of the head. It is also genetic and may worsen during menopause.

Alopecia totalis and alopecia universalis: Alopecia totalis refers to losing all the hair on the scalp, while alopecia universalis involves losing all hair on the scalp and body. These conditions can be triggered by factors like chemotherapy.

Alopecia areata: This condition causes patchy hair loss and is most commonly seen in teenagers and young adults. Hair may regrow in a few months, and it is thought to be caused by an issue with the immune system.

Telogen effluvium: This type of hair loss is triggered by stress, such as from childbirth, illness, or rapid weight loss. It is usually temporary, with hair regrowth occurring once the stressor is resolved.

What makes hair fall out?
Hair loss can occur for various reasons, including illness, genetics, stress, low iron levels (anemia), fungal infections, or simply ageing. For women, hormonal changes such as those during childbirth or menopause can also contribute to hair loss.

How can you treat hair loss?
There are several treatments available to address hair loss, including Regaine with minoxidil for scalp application, finasteride pills, or hair transplants. Other options include using wigs, taking supplements, or trying the popular Alpecin shampoo, which contains caffeine. The caffeine in the shampoo stimulates hair follicles, encouraging them to remain active, which can help promote hair growth.
